The famous Moto Guzzi brand of Italian motorcycles emerged on the market in 1921. With its historical background and innovations, Moto Guzzi is now one of the most famous motorcycles companies in the world. The logo consist of a red background, the text “Moto Guzzi” and an eagle with spread wings above it. It is an easily recognizable symbol of the motorcycle brand and it is famous between motorcycle users everywhere. 

The Moto Guzzi logo originated as a symbol of commemoration, as Giorgio Parodi and Carlo Guzzi, the founders, decided to honor the memory of their friend, Giovanni Ravelli. Ravelli died in a plane crash and thus, the logo was taken as symbol of flight, being the emblem of the Italian Air Corp, the winged eagle. The three friends all had a passion for flying and it only seemed natural to keep the memory of a friend and such a beloved activity in the logo of Moto Guzzi. From its original design and throughout the 1970s and the 1980s, the logo has become more stylized. Moto Guzzi operated changes such as finishing touches on the eagle, that made it look more natural, for example. The Moto Guzzi logo also had a sketch variant for a couple of years. The logo has been renewed and returned to its original form for many years, but it always maintained its symbolical characteristics. Moto Guzzi made the winged eagle a common feature for motorcycle lovers and a great part of the culture of bikers. The logo has been featured, since its development, not only on the Moto Guzzi motorcycles, but also on various personalized items and collectibles, as well as on tattoos and other symbolical appearances.

The logo created for Moto Guzzi is a symbol of great Italian spirit, a tribute to flying and in consequences, to freedom. The winged eagle on the red background, above the written words “Moto Guzzi” is memorable and dear to all motorcycle users, as a part of the history and the heritage of bikers, that started after the Second World War.
